Team Pitch & Play was created in 2016 and brings together different players of the PGA Champions Tour, European Tour, Staysure Tour and the Ladies European Tour.
The fantastic John Daly entered the professional circuit in 1987.
It’s in 1991 that he made his first big impression, when he won the US PGA Championship.
After this victory he became a major golf figure, nicknamed “Long John” because
of his drive distance on the tee.
He impressed the world again with his 3rd place during the Masters in Georgia, and it’s in 1995 that he came back under the spotlight by winning the British Open.
In 2004, John Daly won the Buick Invitational Open, which allowed him to get the title of the PGA TOUR Comeback Player of the Year.
It’s in 2016 that he joined the PGA Tour Champions.
Known to be an eccentric character, John Daly is however an altruist who brings his support to numerous charity organisations such as “Make a Wish” or “Girls Club of America” and to many other associations in the North of Arkansas.
In 2017 he is back on track ! Winning the Insperity Invitational and finishing second during the Paris Legends Chapionship in September. Just behind Paul Broadhurst.
Barry Lane became professional in 1976, and it’s in 1982 that he
made his entrance in the European Tour. The first seasons were a bit difficult
for him and it’s really from 1986 that he imposed himself on the circuit.
Between 1988 and 1994, he won 4 tournaments on the European Tour. He also has represented England during the World Cup and the Dunhill Cup.
It’s in 2010 that he joined the Senior European circuit and won his first victory during the Cleveland Golf/Srixon Scottish Senior Open.
So far, he has counts 5 victories on the European Senior Tour, especially the MCB Championship, finale of the European Senior Tour in Mauritius.
It was at the end of August 2017 that he won his last victory on the Europe Senior Tour at the Willow Senior Golf Classic.
Roger Sabarros, French player, went professional in 1981. He imposed
himself by winning the European Challenge Tour twice, each time on French
ground. His first victory was in 1989 during the Open of Lyon, and then in
1991 at in Biarritz during the Bulles Laurent Perrier Trophy.
He entered the Senior Tour in 2012, where he has registered his best performance in 2013 by ending 21st of the French Riviera Master.
Mike Lorenzo-Vera is a French player. Born in Biarritz, he went professional in 2005 and participated to the Challenge Tour on for the seasons 2006 and 2007. In 2007, he won the last tournament of the season and went from the 7th to the 1st place of the order of virtue (“Ordre du mérite”) in order of merit and became the very first French to be n°1 on the Challenge Tour. In 2008, he ended up 2nd of the Volvo China Open. The year of 2012 has been mitigated for the golfer, passing 10 cuts on the 21 tournaments competed. 2012 was also punctuated by some nice performances, such as a 4th place at the Kärnten Golf Open, a 4th place at the ALLIANZ Golf Open Toulouse Metropole, and a very good 17th place at the Saint-Omer, counting for the European Tour. 2015 is best season so far, ending up 78th of the Race to Dubai. The 2017 season started good for the French player, who ends up 4th at the Commercial Bank Qatar Master, and 7th at the Maybank Championship. He continues on his pitch by finishing third in the HNA Open de France in June. Thanks to this performance, he qualified for the British Open or he brilliantly passed the cut. He is the only French to succeed this feat. Subsequently he finished in the top 10 during the D + D eal Czech Masters and dueling 'Italian Open in October 2017. Thanks to his results, it is becoming more and more important in French and international golf. In 2018, MLV offers an incredible new year with a second place finish at the Rocco Forte Sicilian Open and a third place at the Omega European Masters. He also participates in his second major at the 100th PGA Championship.
Meghan Maclaren is a promising young English player. At only 22
years old, she made her entrance in the Ladies European Tour, after having
spent a a more than respectable time on the amateur circuit.
In 2016, she won the Santander Golf Tour LETAS La Peñaza on the LET Access Series and also won the gold medal for England during the European Championships in team event. In 2017 it really asserts itself on the LET! She finished 3rd at the US Women Open Selectional Qualifier Europe. 6th at the Andalucia Aosta Del Sol Open And more recently she joins the top 10 Hero Women's India Open where she finishes 9th.
Sophie Powell is a promising young lady of the Ladies European Tour Access. She has turned professional in 2015 and has participated in many tournaments on the tour.
Kelsey MacDonald is a young talented player from Scotland, born in 1990. She turned pro in 2013 and now plays on the Ladies European Tour Access. In 2017, she qualifies for the ladies US Open
Mathieu Decottignies-Lafon, promising young player playing today on the Challenge Tour. The latter wins his card on the circuit by finishing third in the order of merit of the Pro Golf Tour in 2018, with two wins: Haugschlag NO Open and Polish Open (in 10 holes of play-off, historical record). He made himself known to the general public at the 2016 French Open where he finished 16th in the event and first French. He trains today with Benoit Ducolombier and continues his ascent to the European Tour.
